Kirby Larson is one of my all-time favorite middle-grade authors, and an all-around lovely human. Her books include Hattie Big Sky (which was a Newbery Honor book, NBD…) and the Audacity Jones books, among many others. So how stoked was I when she agreed to read an early copy of A Scar Like a River . . . and then came back with this incredible blurb???
